The National Championship Game is Set!

Columbus, GA ~ Wow!! What a weekend of basketball it has been in Columbus, Ga. The PBA had some great players from all across the Eastern side of the USA. Thursday nights playin round went to the wire as the Dothan Snipers and Mississippi Raptors fought for the 4th seed in the Final Four. Neither team was willing to give in. For the Raptors, it was Stephon Thomas leading the charge with 43 points and Denzel MDuffey ringing in 35 Points. On the Snipers squad it was Jordan Neal dropping 33 points as both Octavious Thomas and Edward Robinson contributed 15 points each. As the final buzzer sounded, it was the Raptors 100 and the Snipers 97. Congratulations 🎉 to the Raptors ‼️What a game 🔥🔥🔥 The Final Four was set! Friday night proved to be another great night of semiprofessional basketball as the Final Four teams met up to fight for the right to play in Sunday Afternoon’s National Championship.

The first game of the night was with TTE from Nashville Tennessee vs Lancaster Thunder from Lancaster, Ohio. The 1st half was definitely a half of strong defensive play as we went into halftime 48-45 TTE. The second half brought change as TTE began to slowly pull away from the Thunder but not easily as Sean Rogers and Brett McKnight from the Thunder just kept coming dropping 31 points each. TTE pulled this one out 111-96 to advance to the National Championship game. George Stanberry led TTE with 42 Points.

The Final game of the night was the defending champions Columbus Ga Vipers taking on a very scrappy Mississippi Raptors team. This game was nothing short of a nail biter as it went into overtime. The Raptors were not going to be defeated easy as they gave the Vipers everything they had until the final buzzer. It was the Vipers in the end pulling off a 122-118 victory in overtime to advance to the National Championship game for the 3rd season straight. The Vipers were led by Cortez Chaney with 30 points. Cam Paulding dropped 21 points followed close behind by Alquan Mendenhall with 20 points. For the Raptors it was Stephon Thomas with 51 points and Denzel McDuffey with 39 points.

Midwest Division – Current, pending, and proposed markets

“We’re super excited about the Lancaster Thunder. Everyone I spoke with said they’re a top flight organization on and off the court. The club is really strong in the community and has strong partners that they brand with in the area. David has assembled a first class team and his management and coaching staff is also highly regarded. We love the fit! This is what we keep talking about. One of the best of the best minor league organizations that saw the business model of the PBA coupled with the marketing and promotion of the clubs in the Association and the International respect we’re garnering from Overseas clubs… it fits with their goals of offering a quality product to the fans while also putting the players in their organization in the best position possible for advancement in their professional endeavors.” PBA Commissioner – Chris Terrell
