Buckhannon Bears join the Pro Basketball Association

Buckhannon, West Virginia – The Pro Basketball Association announced on Friday that the Buckhannon Bears had been awarded a franchise for the 2021 Season. The Buckhannon Bears were founded in 2019 by team owner/ player Cordell Nicola and partners. They played in the American Basketball Association (ABA). They are located in the Northern part of West Virginia that is an area that loves basketball and is about 2 hours South of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

On the court the Buckhannon Bears have some high flyers and some knock down 3 point shooters that you don’t want to miss watching in action. It would be hard to find another team that plays with more heart and determination for whats on the front of the uniform and not whats on the back. They play for West Virginia and for each other and they always bring their best effort. We are a team with one goal and that is to bring home a championship to West Virginia. The Bears organization is excited about the opportunity to join the PBA and is ready for the high quality competition from teams that play in larger markets.

TMO Cordell Nicola – 6’9″ PF/C – Buckhannon Bears

Team Market Owner Cordell Nicola is also a player on the team. It’s not common to find a young man that is capable of doing both at a high level. But as accomplished as he has been with the business aspect of basketball, he’s equally adept at it on the court. Nicola is a 6’9″ stretch big man. He has 3 point range and a soft release. His ability to pull opposing bigs away from the basket is key in opening the floor and allowing their athletes to get to the paint. It’s pick your poison for defenses – either let Nicola pick and pop his way to 20 plus on any given night and work to stop penetration from others or stay spread out and open up those lanes. The team will be conducting a tryouts knowing the level of competition in the Northeast division is robust and is excited about the prospects of the season. The team will be joining the Akron Aviators, Buffalo Blaze, Rochester Razorsharks, New York Generals, and Mid Coast Sternmen in what is shaping up to be a very talented Northeast.

Temple Hawks join the Pro Basketball Association

The PBA has announced that the Temple Hawks have been awarded a franchise for the 2021 Pro Basketball Association Spring-Summer season. Team owner Alton Nicholson has been instrumental in putting Temple on the map in the State hoop scene and now he’s taking them National.

Temple, Texas is located about halfway between Austin and Waco and for players from that area to have an opportunity to take their games to a higher level it takes an organization willing to travel and play on a bigger stage. There is a lot of high level players in the Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Temple areas. They have zero problems putting together a team that can win games a high level from those areas and Austin and Waco but to play other teams of their caliber requires being willing to go to Austin, go to Dallas, go to Houston, go to San Antonio and a leader like Nicholson is what helps so many have the platform to reach that next level. The Temple Hawks will play in the Dallas bubble format in Lewisville, Texas (suburb in North Dallas) in the PBA beginning in May.

Players, coaches, scouts, team managers, owners and agents will be convening at the MAC on April 3rd for the PBA Pro Combine and Draft. The Pro Basketball Association aims to bring professionalism, organization, and a platform that highlights the abilities of it’s players and coaches for overseas opportunity and as such one of the highest levels of pro basketball domestically outside of the NBA. Texas Revelation add 6’6 Forward Jason Smith

Woah! Watch out! Texas Revelation of the PBA means business!
Jason Smith signs with the Texas Revelation of the  Pro Basketball Association. Smith is a solid 6’6 forward that isn’t afraid to mix it up. This man means business and he’ll tear the rim down when he needs to. The Revelation announced two other signings last week with DK Eldridge and TJ Maston and Jason is another pro’s pro that just knows how to win. He’s physical and aggressive and will rebound and defend but what makes Smith special is that warrior mentality. He wants it more than his opponent more often than not and will put his body on the line to get his team the win.

The Texas Revelation will be hosting a team tryout and info is on their website at www.texasrevelation.com – The PBA league combine is in Rochester NY on March 27 and April 3 in Lewisville TX – more info on those at www.pbaplayers.com
