Houston Red Storm join the Pro Basketball Association
Houston, Texas – The Pro Basketball Association announced on Friday that the Houston Red Storm had been awarded a franchise for the 2021 PBA Season. Owner Larry Leonard is no stranger to high level minor league basketball. Mr. Leonard has been a pillar in the community with his ABA franchise in Houston since 2006. They’ve been successful on and off the court and make a difference in the community in which they serve. Leonard is also an apparel manufacturer and brings the experience of knowing what it takes to succeed in winning on the court and winning off of it.
Houston, Texas now features two Pro Basketball Association organizations, with the Red Storm joining the H-Town Astronauts in the Southeast division. The clubs will have a natural cross-town rivalry and double the promotion will work together to get their brand and games to the greater Houston market. The Southeast will feature teams from Texas, Louisianna, the Greater Gulf Coast Region, Mississippi to Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. The Pro Basketball Association is also in communication and has pending applications for franchises to be awarded in the State of Georgia. It’s an exciting time for the PBA and this Southeast Division much like the SEC is going to be high level every weekend this season in the PBA. The league plays a Spring-Summer schedule beginning in May and plays a 10-game regular season through August.
“I’ve personally known Larry for almost 2 decades. When I was the Coach of the Texas Tycoons of the ABA in 2005-2006 we had some great games with Houston. This man is so humble, so approachable, so easy to speak with and learn from with his years of experience in the game; he’s truly going to be a difference maker when it comes to discussing the business of the Association with our other league partners. It’s a good day for a Red Storm!”
PBA Commissioner – Chris Terrell
The Pro Basketball Association will host a Pro Combine and Draft in two locations this year. March 27th at Fast Break Sports in Rochester, New York and April 3rd at the MAC in Lewisville, Texas. This is an INVITE only event. Players and/or their representation is encouraged to email profile and video to [email protected] to be considered for invitation.

H-Town Astronauts join the Pro Basketball Association
Houston, Texas – The Pro Basketball Association announced on Monday that the H-Town Astronauts had entered into an agreement to join the PBA. Team owner John Lennon played professionally in the minor leagues and had overseas opportunities as a player in the KBL in Korea and wants to give players in the greater Houston and South Texas region to have some of those same opportunities. The team has a business minded owner in Lennon that is leading edge in a lot of what he does on the marketing front but the heart and soul of an athlete destined for greatness. H-Town will be playing at the KDC in Spring, Texas this season and has chosen to play in the PBA’s classic model where he will host his own home games and travel for road contests.
“The Pro Basketball Association currently has teams slated to play this season throughout the Southeast. We’re excited about a high level of Pro Basketball being played in Houston, the Gulf Coast Region, Shreveport, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and throughout the Southeast. Our model is to have teams play in division with only 5 road games throughout the season working to keep teams in that 6-8 hour range so we can keep expenses down and make it a no-flights necessary league. We’re modeled after some of the same solid business practices of what you would find in Minor League Baseball where fierce rivalries are played out between business partners and close friends that all make for exciting entertainment from the Southeast. Similar in geography in what you’d find in the SEC conference, this division is going to be so much fun for all involved. David Day, our National Director of League Operations, and Kimberly Meadows-Clark, our Regional Director, make for a great team for the PBA and a true asset to all owners in the Association. We’re excited about John Lennon and are looking forward to his H-Town Astronauts creating some real drama with his bayou neighbors that the fans will get out of their seats and cheer for.” PBA Commissioner – Chris Terrell

Alabama 59ers join the Pro Basketball Association
Birmingham, AL – The PBA has awarded a franchise to the Alabama 59ers. The 59ers are led by CEO Kimberly Meadows-Clark. In addition to the TMO “Team Market Owner” position as the head of her franchise in the PBA, she has also been named RDLO “Regional Director – League Operations” and will be instrumental in working with the PBA in the Southeast division in vetting other top clubs in the region and making recommendations for consideration towards invitation to the Pro Basketball Association.
“Kimberly as RDLO and TMO makes a lot of sense for the PBA. She has a lot of experience and will help us with the organizations that do it right and want to take their games to the next level but also help vet the ones that aren’t quite ready for prime time. She’ll work closely with National Director of League Operations David Day to help manage and promote the brand of the Pro Basketball Association in the Southeast.”
