PBA and MBL form alliance

The Pro Basketball Association and Maximum Basketball League have formed an alliance which will implement high standards in the world of professional minor league basketball.

With the announcement of the formation of the Pro Basketball Association, the Spring-Summer pro league has announced 10 new franchises as a part of the National launch with many more to come out shortly. Of those announced so far include: The F.I.R.M., Rochester Razorsharks, Texas Admirals, DFW Just Hoops, Texas Revelation, Buffalo Blaze, Dallas Kings, HoopGoon, FW Prymetyme, and Waco Terror.

The PBA will have the league combine and draft in April, 2021, the PBA will open the regular season in May and play over a 20 week period thru the end of August. New franchises will be announced over the next several weeks. The league currently has some 19 applications pending for clubs in the Pacific, Midwest, South, Southeast, and Northeast divisions. This is an exciting time for Minor League Basketball.

The MBL has 40 franchises that make up their Fall-Winter league. The PBA plays a Spring-Summer league schedule. With the PBA announcement joining into an alliance with the MBL, along with the teams already announced and pending applications, the leagues will work together to drastically change the landscape of minor league basketball in United States for the better following a model of professionalism and organization more akin to what’s found in Minor League Baseball.
